French Noun Gender Mastery Course

French noun genders are undoubtedly one of the biggest trouble areas in learning French. Why does the French language have those rules  for words? Who plays heads or tails with each word and decides that a table (une table) is feminine and a book (un livre) is masculine.

Makes no sense, right?

Noun genders can be difficult but with the right method, you can master it without difficulty.

This French Noun Gender Mastery Course is Exactly What You Need

It’s time to let go of the usual cumbersome method of memorizing each and every French noun and its corresponding gender. It has a very interesting and unique approach, I’ve tried for 2 weeks so far and up to this point I like it. I occasionally make errors relating to gender when using some word but I can definitely sense an improvement using this method. It’s a very good tool for intermediate and advanced French Learners.

  2. Anica Wijesekara

I’ve lived in France for several years now and, despite the fact French people don’t normally mind mistakes relating to gender, I’m always looking to improve my French and avoid sounding too much like a foreigner. Gender and tense are often a struggle for me. After one month of using this eBook I must say that it works! Sure, sometimes I forget the gender of some words, the rate at which this happens is less and less each day. It wouldn’t hurt to have even a bit more content. There are a bit over 600 words but I would love to get the content up to 1000 or even 2000 words. This eBook became part of my routine as I listen the mp3s while preparing my breakfast – I’d like to continue it for a few more weeks.

  3. David Mitchell

I was a bit skeptical at first but then I thought, “Hey, why not try this method”. I have been struggling with the gender of French nouns for a while. The sessions are short, and I was able to use the eBook both at home and in my car. So far, it seems to be working! I now correct myself when I use the wrong gender. Another positive effect is that I learned some new, useful words.

I don’t think this is the most useful tool for beginner learners. However, if you are like me and are at an intermediate level, you should consider purchasing this eBook if you want to solve the gender issue.

  4. Michele Milton

Highly recommend for anyone who is learning French.

  5. Kelly Lauren

I like this approach (no memorization) and amazingly, it works! However, success requires discipline, and an app version with a reminder to study would be a great idea.

  6. Bence Fekete

Gender have always been the hardest part of French language. I always tried to made up some logic in my mind between the meaning of the word and the gender. Sometimes it worked but most of the time not.
The book give me a clear logic how to identify the most common words in French, if you are a beginner French leaner, this book definitely for you, but keep it in mind that practice makes you better. 🙂

  7. Haneen Anbarserri

As someone who hasn’t spoken French in a few years, I found “French Gender Drill” to be super helpful since it’s my weakness. It’s also written by a teacher who teaches French to students, which I also like. I highly recommend it as a supplement!

  8. Arantxa

Wonderful! very good structure, a 30 day program to learn something fundamental in French language

  9. Eamon Devine

This is a great book for learning different noun genders. I’m just a beginner, so I’m bound to continue to struggle with articles ‘un’ and ‘une’ or ‘le’ and ‘la’ on my own, so I’ll be using this book to drill those into memory.

  10. Karla

As a beginner of the French language, I really struggle with the gender when trying to complete a sentence. This book really gives you a better understanding in 30 days of the gender and makes it easy to know the genders of the basic words to fully be able to structure a good conversation. Will definitely keep it handy.

  11. Ricardo

The book uses a daily approach which is easy to follow. As a beginner in the French language, I found the memorization method interesting, through practicing the audios day by day I was able to understand the general pattern of genders quickly. One of the best aspects is that the book uses words in the same category each day (i.e., fruits, objects, etc.). Although there is a recap at the end of each week, in my view, a little improvement would be the insertion of one or two words from the past lessons at each new one.

  12. Andre cooper

Very helpful, love how the book was broken down to masculine and feminine first and later to the daily drills. Overall it was a fun exercise going through the daily drills, and understanding what I think is the most difficult part of the French Language, which is the Gender aspect.

  13. Lindsey

This ebook is fantastic! I’m a little familiar with the French language, but admittedly have trouble with some concepts (such as gender). This ebook helped clear a lot of my confusion and has made me a bit more confident in my French fluency!

  14. JoAnne

This book is absolutely correct in saying that the gender of nouns is one of the hardest parts of learning French. Native speakers have an advantage because they hear the words around them constantly from a young age. But no one wants to memorize endless nouns either. This book really helps with that because it breaks the nouns down into categories based on endings. In all my years of studying French I was never taught this! I also love that they chose the 600 most frequently used words instead of a bunch of random ones. As a language learner, one of my “hacks” that I learned is to always study the most common nouns and verbs so you can quickly understand a majority of the language. And I was so happily surprised to see the eBook includes Anki card files. I’m a huge Anki fan and it has helped me so much in my language studies! The MP3s are also great to listen to over and over to get the pronunciation and test yourself. Overall I was happily surprised to find such a high quality book that takes into account what language learners actually need for success.
