Here’s What Our Customers Have to Say

“Okay, here’s why I love this: it’s not just a bunch of useful words and phrases, but the context to keep all those things interesting. As you go from situation to situation you see how people interact with each other, which is great. But it’s so much better than just sitting down and listening to two people speak French with each other. Because there’s audio included, so you can see the words AND listen to them at the same time. And when it’s done (and I often didn’t get it my first time,) I can just do the same lesson again so I master it and really get a feel for the language. It’s like learning to read AND listen to French at the same time.” - John Ashton

“Something I liked very much about this book, is that you can apply what you learn here immediately in practical situations, for example going shopping or taking a train. Besides, the vocabulary that is included at the end of each tale, helps you in getting these words learned quickly.”  - Mario

“This book was great! I thought learning would be much more difficult, but this was a fun way to learn basic skills of French, rather than using expensive software or boring textbooks. I highly recommend it!"- Summer Stalley

  3. Xavier Miller

“Right off the bat, I had a good impression of this book due to one reason; the addition of a slow version. The last time I studied French, was in 7th grade. Due to lack of studying, French sounds completely foreign to me right now, so for the authors to go out of their way to add this in, is a huge plus for me. The narrator is very deliberate in his diction which makes it easier for a novice like myself to follow along.

All in all, this was a very good book for someone like me who wanted to dive back in to learning French but isn’t quite ready to go swimming in the deep end of the pool. High-quality book for beginning learners.

  4. Ayanda

I’ve had French friends for a long while and studied it once when I was younger. I’m also a fan of good stories. The way this book hits the basics allowing me to relearn French is a plus. Its layout design is easy to digest and appealing. And the mixture of English and French helps crutch my way in to having light hearted conversations with my friends from France in their language

  5. Luiz Vitor

In this first volume are presented the basic dialogues about the day to day, about the family, seasons of the year, going out to make purchases, among others with an excellent didactics. Using a method of listening with a handout to follow vocabulary, these little stories can introduce and fix the basic vocabulary of the language. In addition they provide a slower audio ideal for beginners who do not have the least knowledge of the language.

During my Erasmus I had 4 French friends and when they speak French I remember how they amazed me. And couple weeks ago I was in Brussels and I saw many people who speaks French. Then I decide to how much I want to learn French. When I try to learn a new language I always start with listening some musics, watching movies or dramas and try to getting used with that language. And thats why these stories good for me. Its good that you can also learn new vacobualry. You don´t have to look at the dictionary all the time. And its also good that you have also audio for improving your pronunciation. Also I like how the design of this book is clear and simple. It doesn´t bother my eyes.
