Week 7 Day 3: Classroom Vocabulary Copy

From this week onwards, we will start to learn vocabulary related to specific topics. This should help you to memorize vocabulary more effectively. In today’s lesson, we will be learning vocabulary that is related to the classroom, which is especially useful for students.

Firstly, we will learn the French names for common subjects that may be taken in a high school class:

You might have noticed that many of these words are very similar to their English counterparts; it should help you memorize them faster. 

Now that we’ve learned common school subjects in French, let’s turn our attention to equipment and activities you would typically find in a school:

Here again, we can see many words are similar to their English’s equivalents. So the tip here is to remember words that are different than the translation in English (e.g., cartable, cahier, classeur…)

Today’s lesson has been pretty easy, but dialogue is also important. Now, we will listen to the dialogue below to practice using the above vocabulary in a conversation.
