A quick reminder: When giving directions and understanding the directions given to you, you will need to remember last week’s topic about the imperative mood. Here are some example phrases.

Julie: Il faut traverser la rue pour trouver la mairie.
Pierre: Moi je pense qu’il faut tourner à droite, demandons à quelqu’un.
Julie: Excusez-moi monsieur. Où pouvons-nous trouver la mairie s’il vous plaît ?
Monsieur: Descendez le boulevard puis montez la première rue sur votre droite. La mairie se trouve quelques mètres plus loin sur une très jolie place.
Pierre: Merci. Sinon sur le guide il y a marqué, suivez le panneau. Tu vois un panneau indiquant la mairie ?
Julie: Ah oui, si on continue tout droit on arrivera aussi à la mairie !
Julie: We have to cross the street to find the town hall.
Pierre: I think we have to turn right. Ask someone.
Julie: I’m sorry sir. Where can we find the town hall, please?
Sir: Go down the boulevard and then go up the first street on your right. The town hall is located a few meters further on a very pretty place.
Peter: Thank you. Otherwise it’s marked on the guide, follow the sign. You see a sign indicating the town hall?
Julie: Oh yes, if we continue straight we will also arrive at the town hall!
